Five misfits. One doomed city. Zero chance they’ll get along.
When a ruthless duke launches a rebellion to burn FoundHome to ashes, a gentle giant, a pampered princess, a fierce survivor, a narcissistic scholar turned thief, and a sharp-tongued scavenger are all that stand in his way.
They don’t trust each other. They don’t even like each other. But for the first time, the five have Blinked at the same time, slipping in and out of reality, receiving gifts from the Ancients. They may have the means to stop the duke’s mad plan—if they can survive each other first.
Some families are inherited. Others are forged in fire.
Letter to the reader
When I first began writing this book, it was less than a year after the pandemic ended and I had just lost both my stepfather and biological father. A year into the book, my mother passed.
All the grief and post-pandemic general weirdness—as well as a political climate more akin to rats fighting around a dumpster fire than rational interactions by sentient creatures—impacted me and my writing greatly. I gave up trying to write what everyone else wanted me to write. I decided that what I wanted to write was something that would bring hope and joy. I wanted to write something like I read when I first began reading fantasy; the stakes would be high, but the characters would confront their problems head on with humor, understanding, and love. I wanted my disparate, kooky characters to find ties that bind them together and discover that they are not so different after all.
I believe that FoundHome does just that.
This book is the first in a trilogy (book two will be out 6/26). I know that I could not have written it without the support and help of my partner, my family, my friends, and readers like you. I would be happy to journey through any fantasy realm with any of you. I encourage you to buy FoundHome and share this journey at my side. Thank you; I very much hope you enjoy it, and here’s to our future adventures.
Stay tuned for surprises, giveaways, newsletters, reading schedules, and general merriment!

About the book
A City at the Crossroads
Within FoundHome’s walls, loyalties fracture and alliances form in uneasy balance. Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Humans, and Foundlings collide in battles of steel, politics, and ideology. As factions rise and old grudges ignite, Apichu, Qara, and their unlikely companions, from scholars and thieves to warriors and princes, must confront not only tyrants and armies, but the question that binds them all: what does it mean to truly find home?
The Exiled Princess
Apichu Inkasisa Zara was never meant to live in shadows. Daughter of a fallen queen, gifted with the rare Blink that grants invisibility, she returns to her homeland of Txekl with one mission: free her imprisoned mother and reclaim a throne stolen by the ruthless Amila Terx. But every step back into the palace tightens the snare of betrayal, forcing Apichu to choose between vengeance and the fragile hope of rebuilding a kingdom.
The Wanderer Who Refused Chains
Qara Ma of the Seventh Tribe carries lightning in her veins and rebellion in her heart. Escaping a life of forced servitude, she journeys across deserts and seas to the city of FoundHome, where outcasts and dreamers gather. But freedom has a price, and Qara must decide whether she will remain a fugitive from her people or reshape the fate of the Tribes themselves.
